Has anyone done/taught Grade 2 Saxophone? What pieces did you choose. I am teaching in school so lessons are very short. Easier, the better!
Many Thanks
Diamond
One of my alto sax students will be taking Grade 2 at the end of this year. We chose all our pieces from the Upgrade! Grade 1-2 book. She has picked Greensleeves, Chinese Take-it-Away and Catwalk. I find it simpler having all the pieces in the one book and they are all varied enough to be able to do that. My pupil has a half lour lesson with me one-on-one every week.

Will you be accompanying your pupils yourself?

Hope I helped a little smile.gif

I agree that finding three pieces in one book can be really beneficial. I like the Up-Grade! pieces and several of my pupils have also really enjoyed the Saxophone Basics pieces on the current Grade 2 syllabus.

But the one piece that they have all enjoyed has been 'Pirates Ahoy!' from List B. It's good fun and the piano accompaniment is pretty straight forward.
