Hi everyone!
I had my grade 7 piano exam today,everything went well except the aurals.I was asked the cadence and told to name it eg dominant to tonic etc,however she did not ask me for the inversions.I was a bit puzzled by this because i thought that was part of the exam.I was also surprised at how there were not many scales asked. The carousel was a bit crazy and the examiner was laughing at the end (i'm not sure if that was a good thing?)How are everyone elses exams going?

I've got mine tomorrow Wish me luck!!! I'm playing Carousel too! It's my favourite out of the three

How was the sight reading? I am also doing Gr. 7 this year so how
difficult and long was the sight reading test??
Did the examiner ask many arpeggios and were they mostly dominant 7th type?

My exam went awful. I think i've failed I messed up EVERYTHING. I somehow managed to add a bar in Carousel . Hmmmm...

I'm really sorry the exam didn't go as well as expected Leanne but try to focus on the things you did right instead of the things you did wrong as you'll only make yourself feel worse. A lot of the time, people who think they've done really badly in exams end up passing so don't give up hope just yet.

Almost all of us feel the same after each exam , you just remember the bad parts of the exam...
I agree with Lisa , think about the good things you've done (there must have been a good thing , right ?
it can't be that bad )

There was only 1 dominant 7 arpeggio she asked me.The sightreading was perhaps about grade 4 standard with a lot of chromatic passages but it was ok.
