Was anything wrong with a roll-call at the start of each class? That seems very over the top, fingerprinting people!

I don't think it's such a bad idea. We've had a few problems were 6th formers have walked out of school without signing out, the fire alarm goes off, and they chase around for 3 or 4 "absent" people. Or, 6th former can't be bothered to come to school, get's friend to sign in coz they're late, fire alarm goes off, same problem. It's happened when we have actually had fires, and it's not fun!

At uni all we do is write our name on a sheet- anyone could do that. At least you have solid proof if it's your finger print. If you don't o anything wrong, you have nothing to hide!
