Yesterday I was babysitting my friend's 3 year old daughter. The exam certificates turned up in the post and I decided to deliver them to the schools so that the children could get their results asap. It meant that I had to take the little tich with me but didn't see this as a problem as I thought that I was only delivering the certificates to the school offices. All went as planned until the last school where the headmistress assembled the entire school to award the certificates there and then.
So the situation was, I'm stood at the front with the little one who was all wide eyed and taking in everything that was going on. The certificates were awarded, lots of applause and then the head was thanking me for coming over on my day off when .....
..... my little friend starts to sing 'going to build a house, with a garden wall', complete with actions and stamping her foot to keep in time, just like she's learned at nursery school. I was amazed because she's usually so shy with strangers. She took her bow (literally - there was no stopping her!) to thunderous applause from the entire school.
A star of the future, definitely.
