I have realised with some horror that my metronome seems to take not a scrap of notice of how beautiful my scales would be if it didn't keep ticking and pretending I don't play smoothly and accurately!

My musical activity will now be to try to bring it into line with my way of thinking of scales

The REALLY scary thing it that it was nearly two years ago that we established that there was a conspiracy. In a thread that discussed the musical Spud Gun and the possiblity of putting a flute in the dishwasher.

Ahhh, those were the days.

Perhaps that is one little ray of light and hope...

They don't perceive a need to regulate metronomes. Metronomes are a tool of depression and supression without any extra government interference.

True. But why should they hold back from interfering? Doesn't bother them in other things

and the metronome is coming in line with my other piece gradually!

have you noticed, too, that on occasions when you play the piano the keys MOVE out of position just at the moment you put your fingers down??

Apparently I have to retire at 60. I'd retire tomorrow but that's a different story! Yet they allow school crossing patrol people to work until they are well over 80. There is a lady working for school near us who is 93! So, can anyone exlain why a 60 year old is deemed incapable of looking after the musical education of a child, yet be fit to look after their safety on busy roads until they are in ther 90s? Obviously there is a logical reason.... I just can't seem to think of it!

I know!! When I retire as a teacher, I'll become a lolipop person!
