hey all, i wanna know... what's the worst you can do to fail an exam? (i mean for the higher grades) also, how do you 'listen' to cadences and chords? i'm not a very good listener, my exam is 6 months away and i'm so freaked out because i don't wanna re-sit grade 8!! help!!!

well the worst you can do is to score no points! it also depends on how well you do in each section - for example if you mess up sight reading you might be able to make up the marks in aural.
cadences take practice. get used to hearing how the progression changes for each cadence, and have an idea of the key chord in your head so you can hear whether the cadence is resolved or not (ie, perfect or imperfect).
at least if you feel confident in the aural after some practice, it won't matter so much if you make errors in other sections. errors in both could lead to a fail - but with practice that won't happen! make sure you are sure of what to listen out for. if the time comes and you don't feel ready, there's no reason why you can't postpone it a term and gain a higher mark.
