Should i buy the Thomann Kontrabass 111 for £252.00 as i am thinking of starting to learn how to play bass. If any of you have played this particular model of instrument. Please leave some feedback. I'm kind of under a tight budget, and may not be able to afford one of those Antoni 3/4 size beginner bass outfits any time soon as they are slightly under £500. Or please give your opinions on either of these 2 basses. Thanks

Antoni do not have any sort of reputation - you might as well buy the Thomann one I should think.

Have you considered renting for the first quarter? Just to check and see if bass really hits the groove for you. smile.gif

I think that's a good idea, too. I wouldn't buy an Antoni - they're generally very hit and miss instruments and even the good ones are of mediocre quality. I would rent to see if you like it and then, once you've made your mind up, you can look into investing in a proper instrument later.

Enjoy discovering the bass!

Thomann seem to have a pretty good reputation in the rockabilly/psychobilly crowd for cheap beginner basses.

I'm renting; but when I buy I'll be considering one of theirs. Unless I opt to splash the cash and get something a little better.
