well my fave clarinet concerto is Mozart's K622, the 1st and 3rd movements are grade 8 but the 2nd is grade 6 and its beautiful!you should at least try that movement!

Isn't that the one in A Major? Thanx, I'll try it, I may even be able to perform it at our school's Easter Concert!

da beginning and the end, I think they sound really cool, and they are also quite simple to play. I need to practise my scales a bit though to do the middle bit well. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Uh, if you're talking about what I think you are, I'm particulary fond of Mozart's Adagio from Clarinet Concerto......
saxlover
thats the one!! we are also talknig about the other 2 movements

I knew there were other movements, but I've never heard or played them. Are they difficult? Adagio isn't technically difficult, but difficult to make sound good.....It's my favorite clarinet solo but I'm looking for something slow like that but with more technical lines.....

since your not familiar with the exams, it wouldnt make sense to tell you the graded levels but the 1st and 3rd movements are nice but harder than the adagio

Yes the Mozart concerto in A major, is quite varied in standard as was pointed out. I would also reccomend some of the Weber concertos and concertinos as they tend to vary in standard as well. Also he was quite fond of cadenza's so you should be able to crack them in quite a short space of time. Cadenza's are just really a form of rubato (robbed-time). All though you cant play a set of hemi-demi-semi-quavers slower than a triplet, of course but i think that you get the idea.
