Full Version: Hour Vs Half Hour Dilemma....

I have been offered by my head of music next year a choice for my lesson timetabling. I can either continue with half hour lessons once a week or have an hour long lesson every other week (shared with another girl who will do the "opposite" lessons). I'm doing grade 8...so I know the longer lessons will be beneficial...but I'm not sure whether this cancels out the loss of lesson during every other week? understood? hmm well yes I would just like to ask the opinion of all the clever people on this forum smile.gif

I chose an hour a fortnight rather than half an hour a week when I started piano lessons. It works better for me in that I have more time to work on things between lessons (a week somehow feels rushed) but get given more work to do to fill the hour.

I'd say the hour lessons are best, because the teacher can cover thimgs up with less stress on the time

I have an hour a fortnight now for piano. I used to have 45 mins a week.
It does make a lot of sense as far as practice goes, at higher levels it can take more than a week to make a reasonable amount of progress on pieces.
I'm not sure that I like it much though.... dry.gif
