Could anyone please explain what double escapement is?

Sorry - in well over 40 years of music making I've never come across this term.

I suspect it's an alternative term - if I can find out what for I will post again.

It's part of the mechanism of a grand piano that lets you play the same note repeatedly even though the key hasn't got all the way back up from being pressed the previous time.
