Full Version: Which Union?

Hi, I teach Piano both at my own home and I travel to students homes. I've been thinking about joining a union but I'm not sure which one. The Musicians Union looks like a good one but theres also the ISM. I would appreciate any advice that anybody has about unions, whether you think it's worth joining one, which one you're in etc. All opinions will be gratefully received! smile.gif
Thanks in advance!! biggrin.gif

Hullo trbro ! The ISM isn't a union, but a 'Professional Organisation' - loads of relevant info on their web-site. But for about one-third of the ISM price, you can join EPTA UK, specifically for piano teachers. They have all the usual support, insurance, helplines etc,as well as an excellent magazine. Worth looking at their Pedagogy Course too.
