A pupil of mine took her Grade 1 just under 3 weeks ago and we've just got the result - she got a distinction! 130 - yipppeee - she's so so pleased and so am I. She worked really hard and totally deserves it. She got 29 for one her pieces (27 for the other 2) and 18 out of 18 for aural which is just wonderful. A nice thing to happen in the middle of the holidays with hardly any pupils around and the daily teaching routine already feels like a distant dream.... 29 is the highest any of my pupils have ever scored for a piece, so she should give herself an almighty pat on the back for that!!!

Oh gawd I'm beginning to sound like a pushy teacher here so time to shut up. I just hate that nerve-wracking wait and am so glad it's over. Also it's great to get a little bit of good news in the midst of all this horrible war - which is like a bad dream but all too dreadfully real for the people who are caught up in it.

Pray that these crazy world leaders come to their senses and realise they're making a terrible mistake.

Best to all

Congratulations to both of you! It's great when one's pupils do so well.

Hi Folks,

I've had my AB results, the twin girls took grade two and one got 10 marks more than the other and achieved a merit. They are identical twins and we have great fun at the lesson, I never know who is who! They are both very similar in their performance and of course it all depends on what happens on the day of the exam. Fortunately they have parents that encourage them to take it well. I think it is just me who feels awkward for them.

My young pianist, Dominic, suffering from teenage nerves, thought he had done badly and gained a distinction. He obtained 29 out of 30 for one of his pieces. He is great to listen to and I can't help feeling that he is going to give a lot of pleasure to a lot of people with his piano playing.

Well done to Dominic and the Twins, and to you too, Lesley

Well done Lesley too!

That's brilliant! Well done!

I used to teach identical twin girls the piano. One was a bit better than the other technically - but eventually the less able one became better expressively. They had different academic strengths too. I'm sure your twins will understand that one of them happened to play better on the day. Great news that everyone passed!
