Full Version: Recorder In The Kodaly Classroom

I've just found a site which applies Kodaly concepts to the process of teaching the recorder. I really don't know that much about the Kodaly concepts so am unable to make a judgement on how effective it will be for teaching the recorder in a classroom situation.

I'd be interested in other people's opinions. Thanks.

Yes, that's it. Has anyone ever used this method?

I certainly don't need to use somebody's else's guide to recorder/Kodaly as I am quite happy with my own version. However, all my beginner groups are basically doing a combination of Kodaly with recorder. This largely came about as the majority of my beginner recorder players sadly get NO MUSIC AT ALL IN SCHOOL so I am determined to give them as much of an all round musical education as possible. No mean feat in a twenty minute slot once a week..... mad.gif

Anyone wishing to discuss how I plan my lessons feel free to PM me.
