Started aged about 10.

Took G1 after a little under a year.

Been playing for about 17 years! though had 12 or 13 years with no lessons.

started out as Grade 1, first started piano when i was 8 years old, been playing it for around 6 years

I was 6 nealy 7 when I started piano&violin. I took my g5 piano this summer 13years old. It took me 6 years

I had my first lesson on Jan 5th 1953, two months before my 6th birthday.

I thought it was asking what grade I'm at NOW!



My first grade was 1...not 8...heh...

Took grade one after about a year

Started playing aged 9, am now 16

Can't answer this as I haven't taken a grade, but i'm hoping to do grade 8 soon I started when I was 12, been playing 3/4 years.

Started about 6. I can't really remember how old I was when I did Grade 1. I think I was 8 cos i never practised haha! Then Grade 2 nearly two years ago. Grade 3 four months after that. Grade 4 nearly a year ago, and I'm doing Grade 5 in November. So I was a bit slower than some people.

Started at 7.

Took grade 1 in about two years time.

Playing for nearly 8 years although I spent two years learning by myself.

Started a month or two before I turned three.

Began exams at grade 3

Have been playing for 15 years

Started aged about 12. Stopped a year later having made virtually no progress aged about 13. Can't remember the exact dates.


Re-started after not touching a piano for about a quarter of a century aged almost 38. First exam grade 5 aged almost 39 after three terms or thereabouts.

I started playing piano when i was 6 years old and the first exam i took was grade 1...but i had to have the prep exam thing aswell!
So i have been playin 10 years and i still love it!!!
