I was listening to the radio in the car this morning, and the Eurhythmics came on. I found myself thinking, 'I'd love to be Annie Lennox'.

I then started thinking of which classical musician I would like to be, and decided I'd really like to be Piers Adams.
So, if you could suddenly wake up and find you were a well-known musician, who would you want to be? (Any gender (won't let me use the correct term

), any genre acceptable).

Erm... Kim Nekroman maybe - he's married to Patricia Day (Horrorpops) so I'd say he's got life pretty much sewn up.

I would say someone like Edith Piaf but I don't think she had a particularly nice life.
If we're talking contemporary musician, then maybe Evelyn Glennie...? I would love to be that fabulous.

I'd like to say Renee Fleming or Kiri te Kanawa, but their careers cost them their marriages, so I'll go for Angela Georghiou - imagine singing all those romantic parts with your own husband!

Beethoven!
"Prince! What you are, you are by chance and by birth. What I am, I am by myself. There have been, there will be, thousands of princes. There is only one Beethoven."
What a quote, what a guy!

I'd be John Lill. Then I could play the Hammerklavier as well as the remaining 31 Sonatas of Beethoven plus I would be blessed with the kind of memory that John Lill has and be able to play anything else in the repertoire that I'd like to play! Dream on........

Perlman. His playing is exquisite, and he carries and understanding of music which few posess. Also, I'd have played chamber music with Barenboim, du Pre, Ma, Metha, Pinky...
