I have just recently brought a new digital piano which is lovely and I'm working on my grade 3 pieces. I'm doing A:1 Passepied and C:2 Cha-Cha even though i quite small hands and have some trouble reaching all the notes on some of the other music I like to play, is there anything I can do to help me with this? I also was wondering what else I could do when I practise; I practise daily the pieces from the grade 3 book, other pieces for sightreading and scales and sightreading but since I don't actually have a constant teacher just a friend helping me out a bit is there anything else I can do to improve my piano playing?

Welcome to the forums surfergal

I would recommend the Tankard and Dozen A Day books; they have good finger exercises smile.gif.

Keep stretching your fingers - my hands aren't huge so I try to keep them as flexible as possible to make the most of what reach I do have.

Squeeze a sponge rubber or tennis ball hard, hold for a few seconds then release. Do about twenty a day with each hand.
