Well I am only thirteen, and I'm enjoying my summer hols, with not musch homework, so most of my time is free time.

You should be outside, running around.

Don't waste your childhood in front of a computer screen (that's what adulthood is for).

I'm too busy at the moment with the shows of Jospeh! I'm mostly either in a show or sleeping or eating or getting to the show nowdays. I'm actually going to see it tomorrow! I have a show off! Hurrah! I'm very excited, i'm going to be waving pom poms!

Id say on average half and hour a day, but sometimes more and sometimes I don't get to go on.

Just go for half an hourn a day then.

1 or 2 hours, my mum usually kicks me off after that to go on herself!

Actually, I don't consider the hours spent in front of a computer screen when I was 13 to be a waste: I was honing the programming skills I now use on a daily basis. Of course, actually learning a useful skill on the computer for hours a day is a world apart from spending one's time on a music forum....

Mushroom - do you do as much practice as you spend time on the forums?

If I did there would have to be 40 hours in the day to allow me so sleepm eat and go to school. So... No. But I do practise. But i'm not really the kind of person who like practisisnfg for hours on end, I like half an hour or so.

Do you feel you get something out of spending so much time on the forums? Or would your time perhaps be better spent finding something productive you can do that you enjoy?

I have precious little time off this summer, and other than popping on here when I have five minutes spare, I have set myself a personal target - to make a good solid start on a Beethoven piece I'm learning. It's a substantial piece, so my aim is to try and be able to play the first movement to a reasonable tempo by the end of August. When I have a spare hour, I can escape, play the piano, and enjoy myself .

Don't squander your long summer holidays, just think of what you could achieve by the time you go back to school if only you put your mind to it .

Okay, calm down; I like going on the forums too. But if that's all I did, I'd feel I was using my time somewhat unproductively.

I would do something productive, but certain people called parents drag me on 'holiday' and send all my instruments in for a service at once

Hey, now, one needs to consider a thing or two before voting here. Do we vote for how often we come on and post useful replies to threads, or how often we come on and post erm replies not so useful... (that might only apply to a few )
