I'm working through prelude three, and having a bit of trouble with the fingering. In the 'molto adagio section - there's the melody line that runes E F# E F E G etc and then there's a chord at the end of that run. The first chord is F C A D. There's a second F there (a dotted quaver). I'm struggling to finger this chord (and the similarly placed series of chords that moves downwards with the melody line, at the end of each phrase that follows it).
Did that make sense? Can anyone give some suggestions on fingering?

I haven't learnt this prelude but I've had a play... I think what we're supposed to do is somethng like this:
After playing the semiquavers and before the gliss down from the top E you have the little finger on the E, 1st string and the first finger on the G, 2nd string (unless you have a hand like a bunch of bananas, which I know you haven't).
Then you have to gliss down (and sort of fade out) with the 4th finger, while preparing 1st finger for the 5th fret barre and the other two for the Dm7 chord on the middle four strings. Blimey!
I can't see any way of playing two Fs simultaneously as it's written. For the repeat of the pattern in the next bar you can play two Es simultaneously but I don't think it sounds very good.
Hmm ... it's one thing to work it out but quite another to make it sound like music! Bonne chance.

That's roughly the solution I had too felix. But I like you can't work out how to get the two F's! very puzzling. I've found video of people playing it, and everyone seems to keep each phrase in the same position (starting in VIII and moving backwards), but I can't see how they do the double F in that position,
Sigh.
Apart from this issue, I'm find it quite an easy play - much easier than prelude 1. If you're going to get one of the preludes under your belt, I'd say this is a good starter.

Hmmm... well I'll have to take your word for it being fairly easy - until I learn it.
I should skip the two f's. Just play one. Life's too short for double f's (except when you're playing very loud).

Honest, it is. It's full of that lovely 'move the same chord about up and down the fretboard' thing that villa lobos does. And then that pretty melody line (the bit we're talking about) is all just a single melody line. It's pretty straightforward.
