Hi.

A long shot, but does anyone happen to have ANY sheet music by Darren Hayes-from the album Tension and the Spark?
I have the other albums but not this one.

Thanks.

if anyone has any MIDI's of the Tension and The Spark album, i would still be greatfull, as I can use some software to transform those into sheet music.

I'm not sure but I think that's technically illegal...

I think Sarah's right.

MIDI's aren't illegal. There are countless websites devoted to sharing MIDI files.
MP3's are another matter.

MIDI's aren't illegal.

Sorry, but they are. They can get away with it because the copyright holders generally couldn't care less about midi files (unless they're packaged up and called "ringtones").

Hope you're a better musician than you are a lawyer. tongue.gif wink.gif

Anyways, back to the problem in hand: Darren.

Erm... not seen any, but never really looked. You ever tried transcribing them yourself (or get your teacher to do some)??? - you could be a hero amongst Darren Hayes fans (whoever he is) if you distributed it. (Yes, that would still be illegal).

Thanks for that reply.

I've given it ago (transcribing by ear) but have only succeeded on some of his simpler songs.

Yeah, I struggle with it too.

There's a piece of software called Transcribe! (from seventhstring.com) that in addition to being able to slow the playback of a track down, it also makes it easy for you to loop sections and can run a frequency analysis on a selection of audio - giving you an indication of which notes are contained. I've not found the frequency feature amazingly useful but sometimes it gives you a vital clue.

Its pretty cheap, and there's a 30-day trial available so maybe give it a whirl.

Hope it helps.

Thanks, I'll try that.

What Rink said wink.gif - whether a file is a MIDI or whatever is not the point, the point is that as far as I am aware the copyright owner is still very much alive, and in effect you're arranging the music without permission.
