Hi,
I know i hav started this topic in the past, but that was yonks ago!
Since then the orchestra i play in,
South Tyneside Youth Orchestra has developed quite a lot, and we now have a mypace music website. Which has around 20 members of the site at the moment, although we welcome new musicians to visit our website, become a friend of ours and comment away!

Please list the websites of other Youth ensembles you may be part of so that everyone and myself can browse and share comments...
Thanks

Well, I've just got into Brighton Youth Orchestra...it's such a huge achievement for me. It's been my dream to get into the BYO since I first started flute, just under 5 years ago. I've worked really hard to get up to the standard of the orchestra and I'm just really happy!
A few years ago, the orchestra toured to Hong Kong. Apparently they were also broadcast on Channel 4 television too! Wow...I sure hope something like that happens this year!

Being a pianist doesn't give me much chances to play with an orchestra .. Sometime I play with my shcool orchestra , though .

I'm desperate to join a youth orchestra, string group or wind band, but they all seem to require such high grades to get in.

You live in South Tyneside? I'm in the North Tyneside Youth Orchestra, I should be moving up to the top strings section next term. But I might quit, since I'm starting a new school and I'll be much more involved in music there than I was at my old school, which had no orchestra or choir.

I was in BYO (same orchestra as Kimble) for the past couple of years, had to leave now due to our big move. I'll probably join Greater Gwent Youth Orchestra this year and then go for National Youth Orchestra of Wales next year. Also, I've been invited back (along with everybody else who left) for the Christmas Course and tour in July with BYO, which I can't wait for! The viola section will literally be doubling over night seeing as everybody bar one person has left now.

I play in the NSSO which is my favourite youth orchestra because the standard is so high, and everyone really loves music. I quite enjoy the social side of my county orchestra but musically it's not so great (although it's very good for a county youth orchestra). Next year I think I'm auditioning for the NYO.
