Three weeks and counting till my LRSM Teaching on the violin. Has anyone else taken this very complicated exam? Despite an extensive *cough* syllabus, I have no idea what to expect from the hour-and-a-half Viva Voce, which includes performances (possibly even complete ones?) of Grade 8 repertoire. Has anyone out there sat this exam, in violin or any other instrument? How did it go? How was it run? Did you use an accompanist? And especially, what kind of questions and demands can I expect? I've heard that the failure rate for this diploma is sky-high... could it be that no one knows what's involved, or is it just me?!
