Well, I do need to get some new footwear, and a bag! so does anyone have a faintest idea where in Edinburgh is good for that?

And of course, if I finish in time, I'll have a wander around Edinburgh smile.gif
mrbouffant
Might be good to try one of the many shops they have there!

Really...I would NEVER have thought of that

Monday is looming for those of us not in Edinburgh as well!

Head up the ramp out of the station, rather than the various flights of stairs, and turn right. Princes Street will be before you, and on the corner of the road you now find yourself on, on your right, is A Mall Thing, Waverley Market. If that's no good, explore Princes Street itself. Beware - it is a mile to the other end. smile.gif

What an actual mile?! My god! If it is, I must've covered a lot of miles last week, I was forever up and down there and to gilmore place.

What exactly are you going for?

Edinburgh medics ask patients how far they can walk along Princes Street to assess fitness - and if they can do the whole thing, they can do a mile. Hangover, er Hanover Street to Frederick Street only, and there's a problem. sad.gif

whoops. Not that helpful. It seems they re-named the mall Princes Mall or something - it's been an age since I went in there. I happen to have been down in Princes Street myself for the first time in weeks today. I hope IL is not now wandering round Edinburgh still trying to find Waverley Market. blink.gif

Go to Jenners. I bought an amazing hat and hatpin there last autumn smile.gif.

anacrusis is not responsible for IL getting hopelessly lost in Edinburgh, because he didn't.
Did you see an oldish female trundling past with her hubby just after lunchtime, trying to find a (fortieth) birthday present for her brother-in-law? Cos that was me. laugh.gif
Glad you got your shopping done. More than I can say for my trip.... unsure.gif
Oddball
Nice one Chris - must go back to Edinburgh one day, it's a really nice place.

Nope, I was figuring out how to get into St James' Place then ph34r.gif arrived in Edinburgh later than expected (due to a late running)
elmo
I did wonder where Waverly Market was! But, to be fair, they're redoing it on the inside, so there's only about 4 shops actually open. You'dve been better at St James' anyway
