Well, as most of you know, I'm looking to apply to music college, and clearly need a new personal statement. But...I don't know what to write at all

Does anyone have any ideas what to write? (Please...no stupid comments etc)

* Subject passion - why you want to do Music, what got you interested. THIS IS KEY, THEY WANT THIS THE MOST.
* Any relevant work experience
* What you want to do in the future
Go to studential.com and look and see if they have any sample personal statements, but no copying.

Hi Chris,
I've just finished writing mine. Most of is talking about my performance experience, the main thing when it comes to conservatoire courses. This includes awards at competitions, membership of orchestras, masterclasses, music courses I've been on, musical work experience, how long I've been playing and my highest grades.

I think they want to see that you have complete and utter dedication to your chosen instrument and are willing to do anything to become a better musician.

Personal statements take loads of redrafts, it won't just happen.

Personal statement is just the music colleges' way of finding a bit about you. Don't stress too much as I was let to believe (from a very reliable source!) that you will always be given an audition even if your PS is a bit duff. But obviously you still want it to be pretty good so they will get a good impression of you before they meet you!
