I still can't believe I got in Interlochen Art Academy. It's the best music programme in the United States of Amercia. It's like Purcell or Chetham but maybe more intense. But I have no time at all to get all excited about it becasue the first thing we did was an audition. I didn't too well in my audition but I know I'll move up sonner or later. Now I have to play in a clarinet studio class next thursday and I'm very nervous because everyone else is so good. I'm seious, in New Zealand, I guess I could say I'm one of the best but here I feel like I'm the worse clarinet player. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

I HAVE to play well in this studio class and let everyone know that I am good enough to be here because right now I feel like I'm representing New Zealand's music society. So I have a couple of songs I have chose from. We don't have an accompanist by the way.
Grand Duo Concertino - Weber
Clarinet Concerto No 1, movt 1 - Weber
Clairnet sonata no2 - Brahms

Any idea what I should play? Please help me!!! unsure.gif unsure.gif
scarpia
Well, the Stravinsky 3 Pieces, or the solo movement from the Quartet from the End of Time?

Otherwise, I would go for the Weber Concerto movement, as will work better without piano.
barry-clari
If you've got no pianist, do look into pieces specifically written for unaccompanied clarinet - the Stravinsky mentioned above by scarpia is worth looking at, as are the Lennox Berkeley '3 pieces for Clarinet Solo' and also Gordon Jacob's '5 Pieces for Solo Clarinet'.
