I'm a piano student and shall be appearing for the grade 8 exam soon. I was recently reading an article in the Time magazine on Musicians and was surprised to read that some of them had practised 8 hours on the piano since they were 8 years old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am 17 now and I barely practice an hour a day what with school, homework and everything.
Geeeeeeez..... I was just marveling at their determination to be virtuosi.
How much do you guys practice?

1 hour. Maybe 1.5 hours later. (piano)

I usually practice piano for about 1.5 - 2 hours a day, not because i have to but because i enjoy it.

Some weeks I play for a few hours a day, others I only play for about 45 minutes. My teachers recomendation (just done my Gr 5) is 40 minutes a day... which seems far to little.

I usually practice for about 5 hours a day.

I'm like you- I do about 1 hour a day and I'm working for grade 8, but must balance it with school and violin practice- plus a little lounging around doing nothing lol

a total of 1 1/2 hrs daily (i play violin & piano).

I'll practise for at least 1hr.

i play a lot of instruments but for piano, i practise about 2 hours a day at least
