I was about to prepare some music worksheets for my pupils to help with their theory until I realised that I have no way of putting notes or clefs etc into a worksheet prepared on my computer. Could anyone suggest a suitable software program?
Thanks,
Claire

Finale Notepad - and it's a free download too - not quite what you mean as you'd need to put your text in as lyrics rather then paste sections of music into your text document.

You can use
this to prepare worksheets.
You can paste sections of music into a word or publisher document if you want to.

The worksheets are to cover different subjects which come up in theory exams, for example, minor scales where I'd like to have some text explaining the fundamentals and then an example. If I have to, I'll prepare these using word and then stick bits of manuscript in the correct places then photocopy but ideally I'd like to be able to do all of this on the computer, which i should probably add is a mac!!

I would say that Sibelius is probably your best bet as that allows you to create worksheets. However it might be a bit pricey for just making a few worksheets.
