OK. I think the other thread's got unweildy, so I'm starting a new one.
Here's the final (ish) arrangement.
We'll meet on 26th Nov, in Market Harborough. This will be another 'come and play' day - not a concert.
Time and venue will be announced soon.

Oops, just seen this thread after posting in the other thread, so this is a slight dual post......
Would people like me to being some Christmassy pieces to this playing day?

I noticed that you were having some problems finding a venue for a concert.
I might have a suitable location, I work at a school and one of the halls has a Really nice Broadwood Grand. It also has a stage and ample area for seating, and includes practive rooms.
They normally only do evening bookings during the week, I'm trying to find out if they have anything during the weekend. As an alternative they have another hall also with a stage and plenty of rooms but it only has an old upright piano in it. The second hall is available anytime.
They've told me the cost will be about £15-£20 per hour.
Oh and it's in Northampton, so not far away from Harborough.
What do you think? Do you want me to find out more?

I'm definitely coming - and it's just occurred to me that I can bring Chinatown and Liberty Bell which we did at the last two general Forums concerts, as I had arranged them to include Bb instruments and violas. Also there's the Krakowiak which we'll be doing at next Saturday's concert.

Could you look into it, McMan? I think it's too late now to try to pull things together for 26 Nov, but perhaps for the May concert? Although, I think that the methodist church in harborough will be available in may, with a nice steinway and even an organ, should Mr B decide to grace us with his presence!

Hi,
Jo reminded me about this today.
I would be interested in coming. I do have two 3000 word essays due at around that time though, so it will be dependent on them.
Can I let you know closer to the time?

As far as I can see reading the two threads, the list of attendees is:
meerkat : 'cello
barry-clari : clarinet; recorders
jo.clarinet : clarinet; recorders
janexxx : violin
katyjay : violin; recorders; voice
willobie : viola; recorders
nicki_flute : flute
and as far as I can see, that is it at the moment. Willobie/Nicki, can you both confirm that 26/11 is OK please?

I'm waiting for meerkat to give me the start time, then I'll book my train tickets and I'll be all set!

I think Pollyanna may be interested - we spoke about it yesterday at SRP - and also Jackiekay and Kieran (two of my adult learners). But we all need to know the times before we can book our train tickets, and the cheaper ones are going fast......

Sorry everyone, I'm having terrible trouble with my home net at the moment. I'm trying to shift providers now, so hopefully things will improve soon! In the meantime, I'll try to get onto the net while at work, every few days, just to check if there are any queries (but it's often a bit tricky getting online at work too).
I've booked the same hall as last time, for a bit longer (1.30 - 17.30). I couldn't get it earlier as it's in use by the church in the morning. I could book it a bit longer at the end of the day, if people would like that?
Best wishes

I booked my tickets this morning - due to arrive in MH at 12.25 (the next one would have been to tight time-wise, especially as there might be delays on a Sunday) and catching the train back to London at 18.32 (again, it would have been pushing it to try for the one before), so I'm up for playing a little longer than 5.30 if we're able to! But if we have to be out by then, I think I could *just* about force myself to go to the local pub for a drink afterwards, as some of us did last time...

Mine does that all the time, Barry. Wanadon't indeed. I'm in the process of changing now.
Looking at the line up, we could really do with a bit more bass couldn't we? Didn't saxfan say he might make it (hopefully with that lovely low sax he had last time).
I wonder if there's any chance of Phillip Bassoon joining us?
