I need some flute duets for my A2 performance, so about grad 5/6 standard?
I hav had some suggested to me but thats no help as i would have to buy the book then see if i like it, which if i dont like it, is a total waste. I dont know how else to go about it? Any ideas?

I would have thought that your flute teacher is the best person to speak to about this as she could recommend and play with you to see if you like the piece.
Do you own Faure album by Trevor Wye (published by Novello)? I like Sicilienne and my pupils loved Trantella. How about Kohler's Waltz (I can't remember the proper title! sorry)? or if you are Baroque person, how about some Quantz?

Try having a look on the internet. I find most of my clarinet duets that way.

i love all the telemann sonata duets - there's 2 volumes, but i don't much like the canonic sonatas.

the other flute duet album i like is album of flute duets put together by louis moyse.

ooohhh and then there's mozart operatic highlights - universal edition ed by gerhard braun, some of the duets in there are beautiful

I have a Trevor Wye flute duet book, volume 1 I think it is, and that has some nice duets which aren't too hard

I would suggest two books to look at: the Louis Moyse duet collection angie suggested, and the Voxman duets Book 2. Both contain duets from around Grade 5 - Grade 8 in standard which are fun to play and are good value for money.

Emil Kronke has also written a really nice duet called 2 butterflies which is about grade 5-6 in standard.

Doppler but it's way more than you need for a grade 5/6 standard recital!
