Hi,
I'm not a qualified teacher, but I'm going to be helping a girl with aural over the next few months. Of course, I can do this without additional help, otherwise I wouldn't have agreed to do it, but I had a look on the net to see if there are helpful resources or factsheets i can give her, and I couldn't find anything, which surprised me, as i was sure that there must be something on the vast internet...
Am I just looking in the wrong places? Anyone know any good sites?
(she's grade 7)
Thanks

Ear trainer type things:
http://www.hofnote.co.uk/ - You have to pay about £10 I think for a subscription but you subscribe t a grade and it has all the exercises you'll have to do in the exam. I find it really helpful

http://www.good-ear.com/

http://www.musictheory.net/index.html

Stuff you could print out:
http://www.wmich.edu/mus-theo/etg/sig.html - Good article for tips on sight singing

Other:
http://www.smu.edu/totw/modulate.htm
http://www.people.vcu.edu/~bhammel/theory/mhis145/index.htm

I think it could help if you find her strengths and weaknesses first and then I could have a look for some more helpful links. Good luck smile.gif

Fantastic! Thanks, Nicki.
From what she and her mother have said, she finds all of aurals difficult, and hasn't been taught much. I'll see what I can do!

You're welcome. It helps me too, I am doing G8 and my aural ability is absolutely hideous, so if you find anything good then let me know smile.gif Good luck!

This has quite a good chord & interval ear trainer. You can set it to different levels and use inversions as well. The scale recognition game is quite useful too.
