I'm afraid I haven't heard of them...

What kinda music is it??
mwl1
I've not heard of them either
ben_walker446
laugh.gif I have heard of erasure.

Erasure is a British synth pop duo and one of the most popular, durable and influential names in the genre. It consists of Vince Clarke (synthesizers), formerly of Depeche Mode and Yazoo (Yaz in the US), and Andy Bell (vocals, lyrics).

Well... The general feeling at college seems to be that the more "underground" a band are, the cooler they are... If nobody has heard of you, you are the epitome of cool!!!

So these guys must be amazing!

j/k

Seriously - what kinda stuff is it?

That would explain why I haven't heard of them, then!

Although I don't necessarily object to listening to that kinda music, I don't tend to actively search it out either!

Linky?

I enjoyed them 15-20 years ago. I haven't heard any of their more recent music.

Have a look at:

I love to hate you
had a very catchy melody, but awful words! Why would you want to hate anyone? huh.gif

Their only UK Number 1 single, Take a chance on me, was also memorable.

We've got Two Ring Circus and Wild!

- haven't listened to them for at least a decade - must dig them out.

In other news, Take That (minus Robbie) are releasing a new album....

Good grief! Are Erasure still around? I remember them when I was still a student and occasionally listening to Radio 1.

Oh my god, such a camp band, but play "A Little Respect" and I will be singing (howling) along!!!! love it!!
Fiona
Did someone say Erasure ??????

I'm their biggest no 1 fan !!!! (well, I was quite a few years ago !)

Yes, camp as a row of tents but a fabulous live performance. It wasn't just a pop concert.

No. I've not seen them around for a while. My favourite is the live in Hamburg - Two Ring Circus- as well as Wild ! I love Chorus too blink.gif Lets just say I still can't decide after all these years !

I've got an attic full of 12" vinyls and albums. Multi coloured, Imports, rare editions.
I did spend a fortune on their stuff.

A friend and I queued at the Apollo in Manchester on a number of occasions from 5.00AM to wait for the box office to open to get front row tickets. We were second in the queue ! laugh.gif

I soooo loved Erasure !

I would like to get some of the stuff on CD as I don't have a record player set up anymore.(In the attic too) I believe there is some software to record vinyl to CD. Not sure.

Oooh.....nostalgia lane rolleyes.gif
sarah-flute
Hehe, nostalgia lane indeed... nope, not underground - just old!

I now have "A Little Respect" going round my internal ipod..........!

I remember seeing Erasure play one of their first live gigs at Heaven in the mid eighties. They all wore sparkly lycra skintight suits that showed every bulge and they took ages between numbers to reprogram their synths.
