You can't get an 'original' version as such as it wasn't written for piano, but for strings, and it would be impossible for a pianist to play exactly what's played in the original in all its parts, so you'll just have to settle for the best arrangement, which will never be exactly the same.........I've got a difficult version, but even then it doesn't sound the same......

well...then i suppose im actually looking for the difficult version(at least more difficult than my version)since for me...mayb for everyone the harder that piece is the nicer it sounds like

That's an interesting observation. One of my goals as a pianist is to master Dame Myra Hess arrangement of "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring", which is in fact her arrangement of the Chorale from Cantata No 147
It's extremely difficult to play well (Dinu Lipatti is said to have taken two years until he was satisfied with it) but there are numerous easier arrangements available. Unfortunately, none of them can compete with the original, because there is so much more "music" in the original. It's always worth trying to play the best version you can, I think.

Hello.
Does any one of you have Canon in D in C major?
Do let me know ok.
I had a hard time searching for it on the net.

The Hess version is tricky, but well worth the efforts. I would'nt say it's that hard though...Lipatti was known to be very modest, i remember reading about him saying it would take two years to learn Tchaikovskys concerto as he was busy learning other music. The Edition Peters version is also very good, and quite hard, in fact i prefer it to the Hess.
As for the Canon in D, the Editions Henry Lemoine arrangement works really well.

Sorry, I can't understand your post. Is English not your native language?

Same, I didn't quite understand his/her post either. It would be helpful if first, we could find out WHICH composer he/she was referring to. If s/he was referring to Pachabel, then no one in heck can it be the original, because as someone stated earlier, the piece was written for string ensemble.

And besides... How can Canon in D be a difficult piece? (Assuming we're talking about the same composer)

do you mean Pachelbel ? or are you referring to some other composer?

can you clarify what 'no-one in heck can it be" means? I don't understand that.
