It was whilst watching a BBC Music program where a chamber music group was playing cheerily that made my little girl (long before she took up any music lesson) suddenly point to the young violinist called Steve, I still remember, and say, "Hey, I like to play like that when I grow up..." Now, thanks to BBC AGAIN (this time a Citizenship program, etc) that this difficult request is made, "Mum, can you find me some traditional or old (she means typical and easily identifiable as such by kids born there, one would guess) Christian music from Sierra Leone? I LOVE old African music and the rhythms. She plays what she hears by ear so even a mere suggestion re. some radio program on old folk tunes from there will be helpful!
IF anyone on the forum has come across anything like it in the shops, particularly in London, please PM me. Hope it's not expensive. *sighs and then blows my fringe lightly* Music costs a lot.
Thanks very much.
Will probably get nowhere, and yet, at least, I can say - I tried!!
