Full Version: Woo-hoo! Finally Decided On A Digital Piano!

Hey folks

After looking around for ages, I've finally settled on the Clavinova CVP305.

I was so tempted to go for the CLP 280 but I think that, whilst I'm learning, the bells and whistles of the CVP305 will prove really helpful.

Once I get my new house (and be up to a decent standard) I'm gonna get a nice acoustic but I think the Clavinova will see me through the next few years.

I'm getting on OK with the Grade 2 pieces just now so I'm hoping to sit Grade 3 (which will be my first exam) in March.

Sorry for the pointless post but no-one else I know is interested in piano so this is the only place I can share my thoughts!

Thanks for listening! (well, reading ...)

Yay congratulations! biggrin.gif A new toy to play with!
Yes acoustics are usually preferable, but not always possible.
Have fun with it! rolleyes.gif

Not at all - I've just bought a new piano, and I celebrated on the forums - congratulations and enjoy your new baby! Good luck with the grade 3.

Oh congratulations, I'm sure that you'll have fun with it.

I love my digital. I particularly enjoy recording one hand and playing along with the other, it is great for pieces where I learn one hand at a time.

(That said, I too long for the day when I'll be able to buy and house an acoustic.)

Yes, congratulations on your new piano. Enjoy it. I have a digital at present, but after about nine or ten years, it needs replacing and I am going to go back to acoustic, jut because I want to. biggrin.gif

Congratulations. I have worked in music shops and have some knowledge of the CVP range (I own an old CVP). There is a lot to them. If you have any queries, feel free to pm me and I'll try to help.

Thank you!

I've ordered a tutorial set on audio CD too but it's nice to know I've got someone to turn to if I need help.

I love mine, can't remember the exact model but it's a Yamaha, love being able put on the headphones and not worry about who I am disturbing.......but then I feel it lacks the sensitivity of an acoustic, I long for that "real note" from a piano instead of just a "played back" version, but the digi will have to do for now (and I love it cos I spent my first whole "real" pay packet on it)!!
