He seems pretty fond of using Chinese instruments and his style is ambient. I personally don't like him. Still, I can see why you've fallen in love with his music..

Sounds like the sort of thing I'd like... *goes to look him up*

His latest (I think) is the soundtrack to an"anime" called "Emma" set in late Victorian England, (but looking rather more Edwardian), recently serialized for TV in Japan.

Best known soundtrack work to date is the "Twelve Kingdoms" (Juuni-Kokki" fantasy anime saga which is a kind of parallel Chinese civilization.

Born 1960, Tokyo, Japan, of Korean descent - you can also google him under his Korean name, Yang Bang Ean

Began working as keyboard artist, composer, and sound producer while studying to be an anesthetist. Strong interest in non-western and non-classical music, and worked with various bands and artists until releasing his first CD in 1996. Usually classified as "new age".

"The Gate of Dreams", "The Wings of Mirage", "Into the Light", were released in Japan, but "Pan-O-Rama" was released under his Korean name (in Korea?). Latest albums are "Piano Sketch" and "Echoes".

Considerable work in TV themes and game and movie/animation soundtracks. Best known animation work - "Twelve Kingdoms", "Fantasic Children", "Emma".

By the way "Piano Memories" is a piano version of the 12 Kingdoms music, and reputed to be somewhat simplified (as well as being arranged for piano, of course...).
