Can anyone recommend any books of easy piano arrangements of songs from the musicals - no more than grade 1, possibly 2 standard?
Thanks,
David

Here's an excellent book I found fairly recently, about grade 1 to grade 1 & a half (some have 2#s, one 3bs, some semiquavers, some crotchet triplets, but often quite crotchet/minim/dotted crotchet/ C major - looking). There are 5 or 6 lines of text at the top of each mentioning the story context and some playing hints. Cost me £8.06 after 10% off.
"SHOWSTOPPERS

Wise publications"
(Blue & white cover with piano hands)
Pupils love it.

I've used Alfred's Top Hits, Levels 2 and 3 (comes all together in 1 volume), starts at pre-G1 and goes up to G2 or 3, good for teenagers at this level. You can get it from Sheetmusicplus - I've never seen it in the shops but our local music shops have a very limited range.

I've used the Top Hits books as well - very popular but Alfred's are not allowed to retail them in th UK - something to do with Hal Leonard + copyright issues I believe. I get them from America (husband travels there fairly often so I send him shopping!)
There are also some show tunes in the Making the Grade books.
