i am doing an eassy about the changing of american musical theatre from showboat to west side story so musicals like kiss me kate, anything goes, porgy and bess, the sound of music......

i am totally useless in musicals so please help me

Forty years is a big period to cover. What background reading have you done already? What do you expect your main points to be? Will you be discussing all aspects of those shows? Have you made a list of the main productions already?

i mainly focus on analysing the music of showboat and westside story but i also need to talk about other musicals but mostly the history changing.

btw i am doing it with the welsh board, any books or recources would help too.

Sorry to ask but did you have a choice of essay or were you told what to write about? I ask as I think that you might have found one of the other choices easier if this is really not your thing.

my teacher dicided for us to do this essay, the other choice is russian ballets, i think it would be more difficult for me
