I've just been booked to perform with my band (Hot Strings) at the Upton-on Severn Jazz Festival next summer! I'll mention it again nearer the time and if any of you live in the Worcestershire area perhaps you'd like to come along! It's in a lovely venue by the river and the festival is great - mostly on a field in big marquees but some of the venues are in the (very pretty) town too.

That's great Violinia!

Lots of the people I meet at other jazzfests go to Upton and they've said it's a really nice atmosphere. I've not been to Upton myself but I'll let you know if I decide to go in 2007 smile.gif

It's true, it has a fantastic atmosphere. In the evenings they have a Mississipi Showboat-type boat going up and down the river with coloured lights and live jazz onboard - it looks really romantic. Then there's a massive procession and always loads going on in the field and of course all the great music, not just trad and New Orleans but all sorts.

Well worth a visit.

I saw Lamarotte a couple of years ago at a jazz club somewhere - what a mad lot they are! Completely barking... good, though. laugh.gif
