What i've been able to gather so far is: to enter the grade 8 piano exam, I need to have passed
grade 5 (or higher) in "Theory of music" or "Practical musicianship" or "Solo Jazz" .
Is this correct? and...
does this mean, no prior piano exams are necessary ?
Just need to be sure!!
Thank you .

You are correct, you need grade 5 theory (or alternative) but you don't need to have done any previous piano exams

Thank you Jill and dennisssj very much for clearing that out.
Just one more question, Can I take theory grade 8 instead of grade 5 without any prior exams?
Thank you.

Yes, you can basically take what you like but to do a practical exam higher than grade 5 you must have a minimum of grade 5 theory
