Hi, I just want to know. How to use pedal in Mozart Piano Sonata KV 545?
La_Chopiniste_
Hi,

I play this sonata , in the first movement there are some bars which I use pedal in , espesially bars 18-21 and the bars simillar to them all over the movement.

The second movement , I use the pedal a lot in it - but careful , this is Mozart and we want it to sound like Mozart.

Third movement , I don't really use much pedal in it.

(I know I'm really bad at explaining this stuff online , I'm so sorry for not being helpful enough)

I am not against pedalling in Mozart Sonatas in principle, particulalry in slow movements where some sustaining of the bass is called for. But there certainly aren't many places in K545 where it is appropriate, perhaps a dab for the ending chords.
