There's me thinking I'm not gonna win this competition which is in memory of a donor of a 102 year old rosewood Steinway, literally like new (value = £25k+) and the competition is to christen it tommorow night in a concert.

Anyway, I had a bit but very stiff competition, someone playing Jools Holland from memory VERY well, someone doing a Scarlatti Sonata brilliantly, someone doing Solfeggio PROPERLY! and me...doing Debussy...badly...

...turns out 4 of us got 47/50, including me! So how are we deciding the winner?

Well...we have another, older Steinway, on which we'll all play 30 seconds of our piece, then the audience decides who christens the piano, by then we all do the pieces complete, then after that, the audience decides who wins the trophy.

A runner up who did the Moonlight Sonata is unveiling a beautiful new stained glass window rescued from a hard of hearing home and is iin a mount with lights at the back of it smile.gif

So...fingers crossed!
