Thank you very much to those who nominated and voted for me as the most supportive person on the forums.

Thanks to the other nominees - Sarah, Nicki, Barry and Maggiemay. Any of you would have been a worthy winner in my place.

As would any number of other people, it's a shame that only five get mentioned. This is one of the great things about the Forums - that everyone cares, and everyone helps.

I hope that we can all continue to make the forums supportive, positive and welcoming.

Finally, a big thankyou to CE and Violin-Ann and Noodle for their hard work in organising and running the awards and tonight's ceremony. Great stuff, guys.

Dahlings, It gives me great pleasure to accept this award. On behalf of “the older woman” everywhere, may I say a heartfelt and hormonally-replaced thank you to everyone who reached into the bottom of their hearts to vote for me.

Winning such an award made me pause and reflect on the concept of beauty. What is beauty I asked myself? And then I asked other people. My dear friend replied “A basketful of new-born puppies”; my mother said “A crisp sunny Autumn morning.” My fellow singers in my choir offered “Bach”, “Mendelssohn” and “Debussy”; my niece said “the look of love in a partner’s eye”, and my dear husband said “Nice T*ts and a lovely A*se”.

Beauty for me is all of you, our rich and vibrant community, and the magnificent splendour of this wonderful, historic building that we affectionately call The Forum Café. Thank you, thank you all for this moment of crowning glory. I’d also like to say thank you to my sponsors “Grecian 2000” and “Nivea Visage Anti-ageing Crème” – without them I wouldn’t be here tonight.
