Sorry but i had to vote for the trombone as it is a godlike instrument in both sound and appearance. Gabriel may play trumpet but God plays trombone!

Any instrument sounds lovely when played well! biggrin.gif

Okay maybe not the bagpipes, with exception to the Northumbrian Pipes which are lovely but only in small doses. Ahhh but this is about brass!

Least offensive brass instrument would be the cornet, trombone being the sexiest, most offensive the French horn (but only if played badly) otherwise it sounds quite divine. Not as good as the trombone though.

Tuba, nice and warm sounding but very ugly and plain looking.

Sousaphone, now were talking. Its funny to look at but serious in tonal quality. I wonder why it has never become a serious orchestral member.

Flugel horn players are just closet trombone players really. You know it!

The only brass to get taken serious in orchestral playing-

Trumpet
French horn
Trombone (under dog, not fair)

All other brass, not to be taken seriously. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
Katet
whats "toner?" or is that some other dodgy spelling?!

toner is meant to be tenor, as in Eb horn
