Hi all,

I posted on 23rd Nov just after I took my first practical exam in 22 years. At the time I thought I'd done okay and just scraped a pass. Got my results today and it was a merit with 124/150 . I am so chuffed I want to shout it from the rooftops and do cartwheels.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd get a merit. Just goes to show, you can make mistakes and still do well. I am so happy that I took the decision to start playing again and although I was questioning the wisdom of this decision on the exam day I know it was the right one. The next one won't be so nerve-racking I'm sure.

For my pieces I got 27/30, 26/30 & 26/30. Scales & sightreading each 16/21 and aural 13/18. I will need to put some work in on the scales and the aural before Grade 6 but I got some really lovely comments from the examiner.
