Just concentrate and do your best. You will be fine, I expect, but if not you won't be the first and certainly not the last to make mistakes in a performance. Remember that the audience will be with you and not against you. Good luck.

Today in my grade 8, I made some slips in all my pieces, but they were minor and I even enjoyed playing

So go for it.

You'll be great! Which piece are you playing? Just smile at the audience and have fun - it's a great feeling playing your first solo - and its just gets better every time you do it. Even if there were some minor slip ups the audience probably won't notice!

I know how your feeling I'm doing my first concert in a while on Monday. Even though it's only to a bunch of ten year olds and their parents some of my uni friends, all fellow flautists will also be there! So feeling quite scared about it! All the best and I'm sure you'll be fine!xxx

You'll do it Soph! Just have some confidence .

You'll be fine!! Relax, take a deep breath, think "if it goes wrong, then it goes wrong!" and go for it!
Then just enjoy it as if no-one else is there and you're playing alone in your bedroom!
Remember to have fun and enjoy it, and the audience will pick up on this and enjoy it too...whether it is perfect or not!!
Good luck!

Well done! We knew you could do it!
On Friday, the deputy head teacher of our school pulled me out of class and said "Do you remember when you agreed to do a solo at an assembly?" I said yes, I did remember, but he said it would be in 2 weeks time. "Well," he said, "There's been a change of plan." I thought he meant I wouldn't have to do it, but he then said, " You're on in 5 minutes!"
I panicked completely, as I didn't have any music, I hadn't practiced for it, etc. , but then when there were 300 people waiting for me to play, I managed, and even enjoyed it!!!
Even though you thought you couldn't do it, you proved to yourself that you could!!
