QUOTE(petrat @ May 24 2007, 12:25 PM) *

As people are worried about the travelling in January perhaps a weekend in March would be better? There were not many events planned then in 2007, just one I think. Perhaps the first weekend in March might be a good time?

I must admit this would be better for me (and I think it would fit in OK with KJ's event in Feb and Barry's in late Mar/Apr unsure.gif ) but if other people would prefer January, I'll still try and come but it's just more difficult to commit wink.gif

I can tell you now, sadly, that if you pick the first weekend of March, I definitely won't be able to come. sad.gif
Could do the following weekend. smile.gif

With Ascot in late March, Farnborough will probably be in mid-April. smile.gif

I think the SRP National Festival is being held in Kent next year, and that it will be on a Saturday in April - quite a few of us in the Greater London area would probably be wanting to go to that, as it's being held near to home for a change! I've looked at the website but they don't seem to have put the info up yet. I'll contact someone who is bound to know, and post back when I've found out. smile.gif

That'll be useful, as I don't want to clash with that. I've written a letter to the buildings co-ordinator of the venue deviless and I have in mind, with two proposed dates in mind, I'll hold off finalising the letter until I know what date the national festival is.

The SRP Festival will be on Saturday 19th April 2008 (going on to 20th, but that's the conference day, so only the officials tend to stay for that!) in Tonbridge, Kent. smile.gif

Think I can say now, the 19th was my first choice for Farnborough.

However, I have a plan B...... muahaha.gif laugh.gif

With the highly successful Leeds concert behind us, I think it's time to mention the next two events, first, there's another of the very successful Market Harborough playdays coming up very soon, on Sunday 8th July, that is followed by sbhoa's Stalybridge Adult Learner's concert on July 28th.

Click on the links in the first post for further details..... smile.gif

Could you add a possible flute choir day in August 2007 to the list please, barry-clari?

I'm going to be checking availability of the hall I have in mind. The event will definitely be in the second half of August, avoiding Market Harborough on 25th.

Andante's taster session is now on the calendar as a proposed event. smile.gif

The closing date for Stalybridge is fast approaching (28/6) and the current numbers attending are very much on the low side. sad.gif

So I shall say what I said on the main thread - please please please, if you are around, come and support this event, you will be made most welcome.

With the highly successful Stalybridge event now behind us, looking at August, we have 2 dates to bear in mind, Andante's flute day in Hampshire on the 23rd, and the closing date for the Woodford concert the day before (the concert itself is the 22nd September). smile.gif

I've made a few alterations to the calendar, notably adding the next Harborough playday, and updating the instrumental taster day details.

After the next Harborough, I'll ask the moderators to unpin this calendar, and replace it with the 2008 version. smile.gif

With the last playday of the year behind us, that's it for 2007.

A big thank you to everyone involved with the events, organising/playing etc. smile.gif

2008's shaping up to be very exciting, so if you haven't come to an event yet, do think about making 2008 the first year you come along to one. You won't regret it. smile.gif

Thanks for keeping the calendar updated Barry, not to mention organising all the music for so many events! smile.gif
