Do you think it is a good idea to have a small footstool for young children to rest their feet on when they first start to learn and play?

If they find sitting on a piano stool uncomfortable, because their legs are too short to reach the ground, it could be a good idea-although to be honest, I've never found it necessary in years of teaching very young pupils. I teach on a digital piano at home, and interestingly have noticed that pupils tend to rest their feet on the base of the piano. At school I teach on an upright piano, but because the lessons are of a short length, the height of the piano hasn't been an issue. For certain activities, eg note games, they often stand anyway. In any case, I don't find very small children remain still enough in one position anyway to make it an issue.
