My daughter took her grade 3 piano exam last friday. We were very suprised to discover an email informing us her results were on line today exactly 1 week after her exam. Thats our quickest ever results - thank you ABRSM. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Interestingly her highest mark 28/30 for C4 Sues Blues which she'd only started learning 5 weeks before the exam, she didn't spend longer than 8-10 weeks on her other pieces. She passed with 117 which she's pleased with given she made a few mistakes in exam. She doesn't have lessons with a teacher as she has lessons on 2 other instruments- finances can't stretch to 3 lots of lessons, so I teach her which is a learning experience for me as well - it's a long time since I had lessons.

Just waiting for her flute results now- same exam week but have to wait for her teacher to notify us.

That's great news! I bet you must be so proud, especially as you're teaching her yourself! smile.gif Keep up the good work! wink.gif

Yes, well done indeed. Yes, I think the on-line system has an awful lot going for it. Mind you, from previous threads some teachers don't like knowing the marks without the detailed breakdown. I just think it's progress. We have to move with the times after all.

I must say I incline away from entering pupils in December as they rarely practise much during the summer holidays, or else they are away for long periods. I somehow find that Easter and/or summer tend to yield higher marks for mine. Or to put it another way, the time I've had most failures has been December.

That's a good point, and one of the main reasons I teach throught the summer, and take my holidays in term time. (I realise not everyone can do this.) The continuity is priceless.

Welsh dragon - very well done!

I've never even though of doing this, but the logic in it is unquestionable! Food for thought! (I rarely enter puplis in December, and if I ever do I'm biting my nails, as they're the ones who weren't up to in in June, and often still aren't. ph34r.gif

Well done, Welsh Dragon - I'm sure this wasn't the case with your daughter!

I do it but my children are adult and not living with us.
We take our holidays in term time now...... as I love to say to the teachers in school, 'My badge says VOLUNTEER'. tongue.gif

Some results seem to have come out very quickly this time - however, not all by any means ...

is anyone else still waiting for results from 13 days ago ?

waiting for results from two weeks ago. One of my candidates who took G4 saxophone at another centre near us got his result in 8 days and didn't believe me when I told him earlier that I hadn't had his trumpet result!
