On a side note, slightly offTopic.gif, but as an accompanist, what are you expected to do if the soloist misses a rest [or even a bar of rests!] where the accompanying part doesn't have one: do you skip a beat out as well and hope for the best; do you speed up and try to catch up (and hope the soloist doesn't speed up simultaneously, not realising why you are doing so), or do you just carry on playing as you are? Same question for if the soloist speeds up and slows down: I'm guessing for this case, you're more likely to go with their fluctuations in speed? smile.gif

If they miss a beat then you skip over to where they are.
And yes, you follow fluctuations in speed.

Just had the phone call.
I got 77 so that's a merit. biggrin.gif

Will be interesting to see the breakdown and comments.

Or maybe not....... wacko.gif

He certainly didn't gloss anything over in the comments.
Apart from the technical work and sight reading (which I aced) it's not particularly promising reading... but it's accurate.
I don't think I'm an exam sort of person....... I know I'm better than that and for a grade 5 exam some of the comments are a little humiliating but deserved.
