Hello all
I have been practicing this beautiful piece from the Chopin Gold book. I've more or less got the tempo right as I've been playing along with a Chopin CD. However, the left hand chords sound really "thumpy" to me when I play them. I've tried a lighter touch, but then they become almost inaudible. Some tips on how to keep them smooth and rhythmic would be appreciated please.

Also, there is a turn which (according to my book) starts on E double sharp. This sounds completely different to the one on my CD. Is the E double sharp correct?

Thank you for your help.

Yes- that's what it sounds like on the CD. Must be a misprint in the book, or they've changed the notation maybe? Thanks
Frederic Chopin
For the left hand chords, keep the fingers very close to the keys and in fact, you don't have to let the keys come up again all the way when playing those chords.

The turn should be on the A sharp. smile.gif

Yup when playing soft LH chords, try ensuring that the fingers are resting on the keys just before you play them - it worked for me and enabled me to make them much softer-sounding
