i love playing but i also love theory!

Last time, I used to like theory & history but ever since I changed my piano teacher, I enjoy playing.

i think u have to understand the theory and history before u can actually start playing the piece really welll...

Pratical.. nothing will change my mind.. i just simply hate thoery. !!

everyone hates theory! but i think it's quite interesting because you learn about the structure of music and how it all works! this is what makes music so interesting!

i agree...but i also love the history...is fasinating..(i porbably spell it wrong)

I agree. Practical is the best one! and i find theory really boring...

Sometimes i hate it..but just because i dont understand that one bit, but after working it out myself, i do feel proud!
+ i feel smart doing theory loL!

But i do like practical!!!

history...i never experienced it so im not so sure
but during yr7-9, i hated history so much...!

Playing is by far my favorite, but theory is fascinating, understanding how music is structured, and composing your own is great !

hiy all!

i think i will go on practical and directing (practical kinda stuff) for my favourite area, but i have got to admit that i loooove analysing others composistions and works. i like to find out why the composer choose to do that in a specific way as opposed to another way. i like seeing the characteristics in certain music and just understanding the thinling behind the work. i think that way you can appreciate the music soo much more and enjoy the piece.

i think that makes sense somehow???

If you would have asked me this question 2 years ago my answer would have been completely different, since at that point i wouldnt have know the first thing about music theory and would have been just starting to do my grade 2!!

History - I love history - any form of history really!!
Practical - i love practical but because i put a lot of pressure onto myself to do my grade 8 too soon really i've kind of come to hating it in some ways cos instead of going in steps i just tried to do too much too soon, which, believe me, is NEVER good!!
Theory - a again too much too fast!! Grade 5 theory within one school term (about 3 months)!! Incredebly difficult especially since i'm totally thick as far as technical things go!!

I love practical! Theory is definately a no no for me. I always to badly in it.

I prefer performing but I'm best at theory :S
